“Oddly specific” and related terms have become blogging bywords for “I’m too lazy and/or stupid to look this up, but drawing attention to it makes me look observant and clever.”
Pay attention to how often someone will talk about “oddly specific” prohibited items in a carry on or “oddly specific” job requirements. It's a plague.
